Leader Lunch 2011
Leader Lunch is an annual event hosted by the YWCA Greater Baltimore to honor professional women who exemplify the YWCA's ideal of leadership, promoting vibrant workplaces and sustaining our community. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for women around the Baltimore region to honor their professional peers and network with inspiring women at the forefront of Baltimore's business, academic, and civic communities.
Professional peers, employers, and prior honorees nominate women throughout the region as candidates for the awards with a final selection made by a special subcommittee of the YWCA's board of directors.
The YWCA's Special Leader Awardees are women in fields including but not limited to technology, communications, business, medicine, science, government, education, and entrepreneurship. In addition to the Special Leaders, the YWCA also honors a woman who has made a major contribution to racial justice in the local community, a future leader who is a local high school senior, and an exemplary woman selected by the president of the board of directors for her professional or philanthropic efforts.
To date, the YWCA Greater Baltimore has honored over 90 outstanding female leaders, who, subsequently, have become members of the YWCA Academy of Leaders, providing role models for future leaders and inspiration to the YWCA and its supporters.
All event proceeds support the YWCA Greater Baltimore and its programs to eliminate racism, empower women and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.
